EmpowerED Malawi's journey began with a spark of awareness and a burst of colourful enthusiasm at St Philip’s Christian College, Newcastle. Moved by the stark educational disparities between their students and those in Malawi, the college community initiated the Colour Fun Run—a vibrant and engaging event designed to raise both funds and awareness. The objective was clear: to support the educational aspirations of Malawian children, who lack the abundant opportunities available to students in Australia.

At Beyond Christian Academy, education goes beyond reading, writing, and arithmetic. It is about building a community of learning that nurtures potential, fosters resilience, and cultivates the leaders of tomorrow. EmpowerED Malawi is an awareness-raising initiative to encourage people to support this project, and future projects, propelled by the belief that every child, regardless of their financial situation, deserves a chance to be empowered through education. As the academy grows, with a vision to eventually service students in all years of schooling, the vision of a brighter future for Malawi becomes ever more tangible.
